Is my TIKTOK Secure? VS Quantum computer
We currently enjoy using our social networks such as TikTok, YouTube, Facebook, among others or simply making a simple transfer in our favorite banking service.
Behind that, there are cryptographic algorithms in charge of guaranteeing the integrity of our data and the security of our transactions, until today we are safe, right !!!
But not everything is like that, these days there are several groups of people and organizations that are dedicated to attacking vulnerable systems to obtain the desired information, and that in many cases they find our precious Facebook password, our birth date and we wonder how did they get to it? Well, I’ll change it and put a more complicated password and it turned out;).
But making a stronger password and with the necessary policies to avoid being hacked will be enough?
Nowadays, the terminology “quantum computers” is being heard, the orgasm of every nerd, solving thousands of operations and mathematical equations in a short time, and even deciphering very complicated codes.
Here we ask ourselves? My TikTok password is at risk? I’m afraid to tell you that if your password is the name of your pet !! of course, you are at risk and without using the quantum computer.
Currently, quantum computers are great at factoring and searching but they are not yet capable of decrypting most cryptographic algorithms, but let’s not doubt that in the future they will be more powerful and of course, they will be able to achieve it.
Encouraging points, the quantum computers that exist today are used for other purposes and not to know your pet’s name.
Fortunately, there are also mathematics and new cryptographic algorithms such as the reticulum cryptographic. Until now, this may be the one that helps us safeguard our most precious treasure, the passwords of our social networks.
